ALL HANDS ON DECK: BHM Executive Coalition Meeting 2/10 at 6:30pm

The Executive Coalition (EC) of the African American Health Program warmly invites Montgomery County residents to attend a special Black History Month Executive Coalition meeting on Thursday, February 10 at 6:30pm with Ralph Boyd, CEO and President of So Others Might Eat, as guest speaker. The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of the Links, Inc. will be the Community Spotlight. This interactive event will feature Q and A and a fun Black history trivia poll with prizes. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP here and must RSVP to be eligible for prizes.⁠

The guest speaker, Ralph Boyd has extensive experience leading organizations that improve lives and build communities, including as president and CEO of the Freddie Mac Foundation and CEO of the Massachusetts Red Cross. He also served as the Assistant Attorney General of the US heading the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. As CEO of SOME, he provides dynamic leadership to support over 30 programs that help the homeless and poor of Washington, DC.⁠

This upcoming EC meeting will address how housing and food insecurity impacts health and drives health disparities. The Executive Coalition’s meetings are open discussions about finding and following through with solutions to improve the health and safety of African American Montgomery County residents. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 6:3-pm. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings are currently being held online. ⁠

The African American Health Program is funded and administered by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and implemented by McFarland & Associates, Inc.
