AAHP's Health Promotion Classes are now online!

AAHP’s Health Promotion classes provide essential information about making the right lifestyle choices in order to improve health and prevent, manage, and reverse chronic disease.

Attendees can access classes online via Zoom. Classes include informal lectures, lively discussion, question and answer sessions. AAHP's nutritionist will also conduct cooking demonstrations of delicious and healthy dishes like fruit and vegetable smoothies, salads, and vegetarian chili. Attendees will also have the opportunity to review their health goals and progress (glucose, blood pressure, weight management, cholesterol).

SPECIAL FEATURES: Guest speakers, Games (Bingo, Scavenger Hunts, Jeopardy,  Cahoots, etc), Giveaways!

Health and Fitness (Zumba)

TUESDAYS
11:00AM - 12:00PM
Get your 30 minutes in for the day. In this mid-impact dance class, trained exercise professionals will guide you and get you MOVING from the comfort of your own home. You'll also learn how fitness can prevent, manage, and reverse your risk for chronic diseases.

Health and Fitness (Yoga)

2nd Thursday and 4th Wednesday
10:00am -11:00am
Learn how yoga can help you manage stress as well as prevent, manage, and reverse your risk for chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Trained yoga professional and psychologist Dr. Kelsey Ball will guide you through yoga poses and discuss wellness techniques.

Kickstart Your Health: Hypertension

WEDNESDAYS
6:00PM - 7:15PM
Making healthy eating choices and deciding on what diet is best can be overwhelming. This class will help you understand healthy eating choices and how different foods can reduce or increase your risk of hypertension as well as other chronic diseases. Attendees can receive free diabetes and blood pressure management tools such as glucose meters, blood pressure monitors, and supplies.
